POLICY INTERN
James Lifton joined the Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) team in September 2024. As a Policy Intern, he supports the work of the HAN Aligning to Advance Policy (AAP) initiative group by conducting policy research, analysis, and advocacy on social determinants of health, with a focus on affordable housing and workforce development.
Prior to joining HAN, James held various roles in research, policy, and health equity. He worked at IC² Institute as a Research Assistant, contributing to a strategy paper examining the promises and challenges of Health AI. James also served as a Legislative Intern at the Office of Texas Representative Mary González, where he conducted legislative analysis and advocacy on issues impacting LGBTQ+ Texans.
James is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Public Health from Texas A&M University.
