HAN President and Founder David Zuckerman presented at the Vizient ESG Impact Spend Summit. He stressed the importance of taking action to be part of the solution through every day operations, providing inspiring HAN member systems’ examples in this area, and shared some key success factors.

Perhaps most importantly, every single individual in this room needs to recognize their role in driving community health and well being outside the four walls of their organizations.
Healthcare systems, as mission driven, economic engines can realize their full potential as incredible community assets by intentionally committing to their role as an anchor institution. Suppliers and GPOs, like Vizient, can bring their innovation, expertise, and willingness to collaborate towards these local goals as well.
Boards and executive leaders need to embed these priorities in strategic plans and compensation goals…and department leaders can collaborate across silos to elevate the importance of this approach within their organizations.
