Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) member Endeavor Health announced $8.8 million of Community Investment Fund (CIF) awards to 44 local organizations and partnerships in the Chicago area to address social drivers of health and remove barriers to care. The awards include funding for workforce development and housing insecurity.

One example, Jeff Zakem [Endeavor’s community impact and equity program director] said, came last year when a small organization, with a one-person human relations department, asked for advice on employee recruitment and retention. The ensuing conversation brought together eight partner organizations to talk about not-for-profit recruiting, retention and team member engagement, “a huge lift for all of those organizations,” he said.
