The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s “Anchoring Health beyond Clinical Care: UMass Memorial Health Care’s Anchor Mission Project” showcases how HAN and its health systems supported UMass Memorial Health Care’s Anchor Mission journey.

The case study highlights the work of Douglas Brown, Cheryl Lapriore, and Monica Lowell in securing Board support to formally adopt an Anchor Mission, form an Anchor Mission Steering Committee, and begin implementing three initial projects in the areas of inclusive, local hiring; inclusive, local sourcing; and place-based community investment.
