MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS AND POLICY
Sandra joined HAN in September 2022 and serves as Manager for Communications and Policy. Prior to joining HAN, she worked in city and state advocacy and as a grassroots organizer with Goddard Riverside, a settlement house on the west side of Manhattan. She graduated from Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work with a Master of Social Work in community organizing, planning and development with a concentration in social policy. Sandra received her B.A. in comparative literature from Columbia College and is a licensed social worker.
Sandra has spoken on panels on the right to housing and legal counsel in housing court at conferences hosted by the Community Service Society of New York and Columbia Law School’s Human Rights Institute, among others. She also served on the steering committee of the Right to Counsel NYC Coalition, a tenant-led coalition at the forefront of the campaign to change housing court and ensure the right to counsel for tenants facing eviction.
She is excited to help Healthcare Anchor Network’s member institutions leverage their resources to create lasting structural change for the communities they serve.
