Gartner’s ranking: Forty-five percent of the ranking is quantitative data comprising Quality of Patient Care, Bond Rating and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) metrics that evaluate an organization’s social impact efforts.
For 2023, Gartner’s new 10% ESG metric for each health system is based on membership participation and active engagement in the nonprofit organizations Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) and, new for this year, Practice Greenhealth (PGH).
A health system’s ESG score is based on a combination of whether a health system is a HAN member, a PGH member, has submitted impact purchasing data collection, and has signed the HAN Impact Purchasing Commitment.
