HAN member health systems are among the largest employers in their regions and rely on a skilled workforce to meet growing health care needs. Continued federal investment in job training, placement, and worker supports is critical to addressing workforce shortages. Programs such as those authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provide essential funding for skills training and apprenticeships that connect individuals to quality jobs while supporting employers’ talent needs.
HAN’s Aligning to Advance Policy (AAP) members are advocating for strong, sustained funding for federal workforce programs to help health systems build and retain the skilled workforce needed to serve their communities. This collaboration highlights how health systems and education providers can work together to develop the next generation of health professionals while strengthening local economies and communities.
